PHASE TWO - WESTERN COMMUNITY CENTRE RECREATION HALL.
Western Community Association, supported by an active and engaged community, spearheads an initiative to raise $900,000.00 to fund a purpose-built Community Centre at Elliot Park, Nawton. Enough funds were raised to build the Western Community Centre at 46 Hyde Avenue. The Centre was phase one of a three phase site development. Phase two, a recreational hall/gymnasium was included in the original resource consent application. Phase three was the opening of an early childhood centre, although this was later reviewed and dropped following the successful opening of Little Feet next to the Hamilton Fraser High School Teen Parenting Unit, across the fields of Elliot Park.
